An informal public meeting is scheduled on June 8 at 7:00 pm at the Dover Town Hall, 4110 S. Beaumont Ave., Hwy 75, Kansasville, WI.  We plan to discuss fish management and fishing regulations for Eagle Lake.  Currently the fish community is dominated by an over-abundant slow growing Panfish population.  This has resulted in excessive predation on largemouth bass young, and zooplankton.  Algae blooms have increased and water quality has declined. Exotic Eurasian water milfoil dominates the plant community.

WDNR proposes to treat Eagle Lake in the fall of 2007 to remove the fish community.  Prior to treatment, game fish will be removed alive and held in ponds for stocking back into Eagle Lake in 2008.  New fishing regulations will be proposed that are designed to protect game fish and improve water quality.

Anglers and other interested in fishing and water quality are invited to the public meeting to discuss these issues, and others as they relate to the health of Eagle Lake and its fish community.
