The Wisconsin Fishing Club (WFC) was founded in 1966 under the name of the Wisconsin Spoon-pluggers Club. The name was changed in 1975 to the Wisconsin Fishing Club. The WFC is the oldest continuous fishing club in the State of Wisconsin currently and is in it’s 46 year.

The WFC is a multiple species organization which consists of Professional Guides, Tournament Pros, life long and casual anglers.

Our Mission

The WFC aims to promote the fine sport of fishing by providing a network of fishing knowledge and community service in SE Wisconsin. The primary purposes of the WFC are to meet fellow anglers who foster and encourage camaraderie, sportsmanship, integrity, conservation and to develop skills and knowledge to become a more successful angler. The WFC operates as a non-profit organization.

Community Service

WFC has participated in all of the “Kids Fishing Clinics”, (26 years of the Spring Clinics held in April & 20 years of the Ice Fishing Clinics held in February). The “Wisconsin Council of Sport Fishing Organization” (WCSFO) sponsors these clinics throughout county parks in Southeastern Wisconsin and WFC participates at Wilson Park in Milwaukee County.

Meetings

Meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th  Mondays during the months of Jan., Feb., March, May, Sept., Oct., and on the 2nd Monday the remainder of the months. Meetings are held at Big Dogs SPORTS GRILL (formerly Yester Years Pub & Grill) located at 9427 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis, WI.

We can’t promise to make you an expert fisherman if you become a member of the WFC, but we can promise you that you’ll increase your knowledge and skill by participating in our meetings and outings. You will learn and network with the pros, guides, and fellow members. Join the WFC today.

Benefits of Membership

Experts to novice fishermen freely discuss and exchange information in all areas of fishing including where, when, & how to fish at our monthly meetings. Members openly share reports on specific lakes, presentations and location of fish.

Raffles are held at each meeting to support “The Kids Fishing Clinics” which are held at Wilson Park in February and April.

Monthly Outings are held at a variety of lakes targeting multiple species of fish.

Members are not required to own a boat. We have a number of members who do not own a boat. We are always looking for good fishing companions.

Annual Fishing Contest is open to all members and their children.

Annual Christmas Party is held in December with awards awarded in various fishing categories.

Membership

The WFC welcomes into membership all men and women who are interested in fishing, whether they are professionals or amateurs. They are required to agree with the purpose of the WFC and its By-Laws.
